Latest CD packaging artwork job for the legendary “Western Star” label. This time for The Pat Winn Combo. Been having a chat with Pat this week and turns out he used to live about 4 miles down the road from me and work at one of the places we used to play back then! More Rock ‘n’ Roll goodness whizzed off to the pressing plant!!
WSRC128 – John Leyton and The Western All Stars CD album
New design just approved for a 24 track CD album by 1960s British rock ‘n’ roll legend and film star; John Leyton of “Johnny Remember Me” fame (later a psychobilly classic covered by The Meteors).
From Alan Wilson’s sleeve notes…
“For me, a lifelong fan of British Rock n Roll & pre-Beatles Brit-pop, getting a phone call sometime in 2005 to record John Leyton was a dream come true. I remember at the time thinking it must be a friend playing a practical joke, but thankfully, this opportunity turned out to be genuine.”
The Caravans – “Gasoline & Gunfire” CD album.
This band was a big part of my teenage years back in the 1980s and they’re still recording quality, original rockabilly. The vinyl EP released last year was one of their best yet in my opinion so looking forward to hearing this new CD album immensely. Fantastic front cover artwork, my job was to build the rest of the packaging to complement this cover including multi-page booklet, inlay and CD print.
Ace Cafe – 80th Anniversary Album
If you haven’t heard of the Ace Cafe then I’d be very, very surprised. The legendary spot for bikers and hot rodders and great ‘greaser’ music celebrates 80 years in business this year. To celebrate this fantastic double CD of rockin’ tracks featuring gas guzzling steeds of the two and four wheel variety is in production for Western Star and my artwork has just been approved and tearin’ up the road on it’s way to the pressing plant!!

Henry & The Bleeders new album!
This week I’ve been working on two releases for the excellent “Henry & The Bleeders” from Bedford. Just kicking the supplied artwork in to shape for the pressing plant and adding the bells and whistles to stick the Western Star brand on this second one, the CD album; “Looking Backwards”. Now approved and catapulted into the ether ready for production. How can I not love doing this stuff!!!
