Another CD packaging job sorted, this time for my mates in Norwich; The V8 Rockets. A hard working and well respected bunch of local musicians playing traditional rockabilly at rock ‘n’ roll clubs across the country for many years.
Blotto in the Grotto – Have a rockin’ Christmas!!
I’ve been a bit quiet the last couple of weeks on the posting front, not because I haven’t done anything but because it’s been so busy! Anyway, I know it’s still August but those of us in this trade know preparations for Christmas start early so here’s the latest artwork out of the gates. A double CD album packed with Christmas themed recordings from the host of rockabilly and psychobilly bands on the internationally renowned Western Star record label. Before you start worrying that the psychos have all ‘gone soft’ you’ll be please to hear the compilation CD includes some festively named treats like “Blotto in the Grotto”, “Psycho Ho Ho” and “Freaky Tikki Christmas”. I think you get the picture!!
New CD packaging for The Strays.
No rest for the wicked! A new month and new CD packaging sorted out for Western Star. This time for a new band on the label and a new band on my radar (that’s a lot of “new” in one sentence!). The Strays sound just my cup o’tea!! …
“The Strays are pushing rock ‘n’ roll to it’s limit, fusing a multitude of genres to create a unique modern sound with a gritty, vintage edge. Described as No Doubt meets Imelda May, The Strays performance style is larger than life, interactive, and deliciously unpredictable.”
Can’t wait to hear this!
The Holloway Echoes – Murder in Soho
It’s feels like ages since I done any CD packaging but we’re back in business with this album from The Holloway Echoes which has just been signed off ready for the pressing plant for Western Star featuring Pat Winn and Alan Wilson looking sharp!
Retrobaits are “All Systems Go” !!!
I absolutely love the illustration work The Retrobaits provided for this new album about to be released on the Western Star label. My involvement in the packaging for this one was relatively minor (as opposed to the relative minor which is always a lovely chord to drop in for effect!) mainly knocking supplied artwork into the required formats for the pressing plant and making sure colours will reproduce well across the the differing print processes used for the final product.
I love how tight and neo-rockabilly this band are with very clean production, they often remind me of those fantastic neo-rockabilly bands I grew up on like Restless and The Nitros .
